Motivation for Reading?

Ok, I’m a smart student in school when I actually put time and effort I get good results. When I was younger I read alot and was I guess kinda a bookworm, but as I got older I started reading less & less until I got to the pt where I rarely read, but in school was always bright at reading material and understanding the concepts due to my prior knowledge and growth of reading. Now that I’m in HS I recently started reading a gain because afterall as the saying goes reading is food for the brain and will make you understand things better. As I recently started reading, I read a 158 page book in a week, and have gotten other books from the library, and when I read I enjoy it. Thing is sometimes I feel lazy reading or lack the motivation to do it. What can i do to start reading as much and efficiently as I used to when I was younger? Any suggestions?

In high school you have more responsibilities and thus reading becomes yet another responsibility. I don’t think you’re lazy or lack motivation I just think you’re busy and therefore tired. To recreate your youth you’d need to have less responsibilities, and since that probably is next to impossible I don’t think you can read as much as you did when you were younger. You can however set aside time to read after your day to day tasks are seen to, and then you can reward yourself with a new page turner. Anyway, in order to enjoy a good book it needs to be for just that — enjoyment not lumped in with all your other chores. Happy reading.
