What is a good way to get a character's motivation?
In my writings, I am facing difficulties with motivation characters. What are some of the methods of exploration and development as a character motivation?
An easy way coming to the motivation is to use the Enneagram of personality. This system has nine basic types of human rights personality, each representing a pattern specific characteristics, but more important is the underlying motivation that drives a person. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enneagram_of_Personality course in real life, people are more likely to have multiple motivations, although some are obviously more dominant than others. However, to maintain its unique personality, I'd recommend you only choose ONE TYPE motivation for each character, and then see how they develop and are revealed as history progresses. These are the types and motivations of its "life" principal: — 1: — perfectionist about order and balance in life. — 2: Assistant / Dealer: —- desire love and respect from friends, family, relationships etc. are vital. — 3: —- Achiever want respect and reputation – this time it is more prestige, recognition and social status — 4: Tragic Romance / individualistic :—– to be emotionally authentic and sincere, if only — 5: Thinker / —— Observer long to be capable, competent, and self — 6: Skeptic / Loyalist —— crave security, want to feel safe. — 7: Enthusiast / Epicure / Adventurer —– constant pursuit of happiness, which should experience the world as much as possible, to live life to the fullest. — 8: confronting / Leader / Protector appear — "Strong" to be self-sufficient, and protect themselves and others — 9: Peace Action: to maintain international peace and stability that I am using this system for my characters at this time, and I must say that I can finally say my characters apart. Their personalities and motivations are different, and finally clear to me! Happy writing!

We’ve all managed to temporarily lose weight or quit smoking or begin an exercise program, but the fuel of willpower quickly burns out leaving us right back where we started. We often fail at our attempts to change our lives because we’ve never been shown how. We either attempt too much too quickly, or our methods are slow and sporadic and we quickly lose motivation and interest.29 DAYS … to a habit you |
